Civil Engineering / Site Intern

Site Execution, Measurement & Project Coordination

About the Role

Work with Imperio's execution team on live railing installation projects across residential, commercial, and hospitality sites.

You will support site measurements, drawing checks, installation coordination, quality inspection, material tracking, and daily reporting. This is not a desk-only internship — you should be comfortable visiting sites, speaking with contractors, and checking details on the ground.

This role is for a civil engineering student or recent graduate who wants practical exposure to how architectural hardware gets installed safely, accurately, and on schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Site Measurements & Marking

Assist with taking site dimensions, checking levels and openings, and preparing clear measurement notes for railing fabrication and installation.

  • Drawing & BOQ Coordination

Read AutoCAD drawings, compare them with actual site conditions, and flag mismatches before they become execution issues.

  • Installation Supervision Support

Coordinate with site teams, contractors, and fabricators during railing installation. Track progress, blockers, and pending work.

  • Quality & Safety Checks

Support basic quality checks for alignment, fixing, finish, glass handling, and safe work practices during installation.

  • Material Tracking

Help verify material arrivals, count hardware and glass panels, and document shortages or damages clearly.

  • Daily Site Reporting

Prepare concise daily updates with photos, measurements, open issues, and next actions for the project and operations teams.

Requirements

Civil Engineering Background

Currently pursuing or recently completed a diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related field.

Site Readiness

Comfortable travelling to project sites, walking through active construction areas, taking measurements, and coordinating with site workers.

Drawing Basics

Able to read basic architectural or civil drawings. AutoCAD familiarity is strongly preferred.

Measurement & Documentation

Detail-oriented with measurements, photos, checklists, and daily reporting. Small mistakes on site can become expensive rework.

Mandatory Requirement

AI & Digital Tools

Active use of AI or digital tools for documentation, reporting, drawing interpretation, or Excel/Google Sheets workflows. This is non-negotiable.

Nice to Have

  • Internship or site visit experience on residential, commercial, or interior fit-out projects
  • Basic knowledge of concrete, steel, aluminium, glass, anchors, levels, and tolerances
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, MS Project, or project tracking sheets

What You'll Gain

  • Mentorship from senior designers and engineers with real project ownership
  • Experience building for a premium, manufacturing-led Indian brand
  • Portfolio-worthy work with real-world commercial impact
  • Potential for full-time conversion based on demonstrated performance
  • Exposure to the full product lifecycle — from brief to shipped outcome
